Yoga-based practices are evidence-based and provided within my scope of practice as a Certified Yoga Practitioner, Level 1 and Level 2, with LifeForce Yoga.

My role is to create and maintain, a safe and loving space in partnership with you, to understand and awaken the energy that lives within, and around us. It is through this understanding that we move the energy to generate an atmosphere of self-acceptance and optimal balance.

Yoga for Mood Management is facilitated through offering, and tying together, a series of different yogic techniques that balance one’s mood.

Below are the different yogic tools.

Sankalpa

(Intention)

San means "to become one with," and kalpa means "time" and "subconscious mind."

Setting a sankalpa at the beginning of session, class or training brings clarity to the purpose of the work completed in session. The sankalpa is what guides and holds the session together.

Pranayama

(BreathinG)

The breath is an important piece and integrated component within each of these yoga practices.

When we intentionally master the breath through breathing practices, we can better manage our feeling states and mood by either energizing or slowing down our energy.

Asana

(Posture)

A posture or pose that is conducted with attention to the breath.

Like the other yoga practices, posture and movement work through first meeting the mood, and then transforming the mood through a series of poses that either heat or energize the body or calm and cool the body's system.

Mantra

(Sound)

Sound can be a powerful tool to quiet the mind and calm the central nervous system.

Mantras can help solidify each yoga practice by taking us deeper into a posture or meditation practice as these sounds/tones vibrate through the 70-80% of the body that is water.

Chakra Clearing

This meditation is offered to address the 7 main energy centers in the body. Through this practice energy is carried from the lower chakra to the upper chakras.

Two versions are offered including an energizing practice and a calming practice.

Meditation

Whether you’re new to meditation or already have an established practice, meditation offers the opportunity to still the mind and encourages a state of increased awareness.

Yoga Nidra

A form of deep meditative self-inquiry that relaxes the body. Yoga Nidra is a great tool that clears the mind and opens the mind, body and soul to greater self-awareness through body scanning.

Bhavana

(VISUALIZATION)

Bhava means “attitude” in Sanskrit and na means “eternal cosmic vibration".”

Bhavana is an image that has meaning and creates an attitude that brings us into connection with our expansive self.

This practice creates a sacred space for clients to identify their own image of what resonates and holds meaning for them, and bhavana enhances intentions, affirmations, mudras and asana. Images can include a color, word, place in nature, a feeling, a face, or anything else that arises.

Mudras

(Hand Gestures)

These hand positions influence the energies of the body and have a direct link to the subtle energies in the body.

Mudras have a subtle effect on lifting, calming, and balancing one's mood, and can be used to support physical health systems in the body, enhance the immune system, and create a greater sense of safety.

Mudras integrate breath work and can integrate sound and affirmations.
